In November 2001, Johnson County, Texas resident was picking up cans on the side of Briar Oaks Road, when he found the remains of an newborn infant, who was wrapped in a jacket. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was immediately dispatched to the scene and determined that the newborn infant had only recently died and that the infant was born alive and likely outside of a medical facility. Without any clues to the infant's identity, the infant was named "Angel Baby Doe."
Due to the circumstances surrounding Angel Baby's death, investigators have deemed the death the result of foul play. The Johnson County Sheriff’s office has worked tirelessly for two decades to follow any and all leads that might lead to the identity of the infant. Various leads and tips have surfaced over the years, however none have led investigators to an identity yet. The case continues to be an important and personal case for all involved.
In 2021, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office partnered with Othram, with the goal of using advanced forensic technology to help produce leads that might identify Angel Baby or her family.
