Skeletal remains found in a wooded area in Delaware this month have been identified as a man who went missing in September, State Police announced Monday.
Delaware's Division of Forensic Science determined the human remains discovered in Selbyville on March 2 belonged to David T. Hickey, State Police said in a statement. The agency issued a missing persons alert for the 36-year-old from Laurel in October, about two days after he was last seen.
The alert said Hickey may have been in the area of Polly Branch Road, which is where his remains were eventually discovered.
His cause and manner of death are still being determined, but police said it didn't appear to be suspicious.
Authorities haven't commented on the circumstances leading to his disappearance.
