A2LA is pleased to announce the accreditation of Quality Forensic Toxicology for cannabis testing. Quality Forensic Toxicology is based in San Antonio, Texas and is the first laboratory in the state to be accredited for cannabis testing. Specifically, they are accredited to profile cannabinoids in the samples that they receive.

"Now law enforcement, hemp growers, and CBD shops can find out what samples are above the legal limit of THC," says Quality Manager and Forensic Toxicologist Greg Jellick. "A quantitation of THC and its acid precursor are central to the regulatory efforts associated with introducing legal hemp to Texas. We are proud to be the first accredited laboratory in the state to offer an analytical method to address this question."

"We congratulate Quality Forensic Toxicology on being the first laboratory accredited to perform cannabis testing in the state of Texas," said Chris Gunning, General Manager at A2LA. "A2LA is excited to see our services adopted in another state. This highlights the ever-growing presence and validity of both ISO/IEC 17025 and A2LA in the cannabis industry in the United States. We look forward to our continued relationship with Quality Forensic Toxicology in serving their accreditation needs."

Achieving ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation by A2LA is the pinnacle in third-party laboratory accreditation, as it confirms that laboratories have management, quality, and technical systems in place to ensure accurate and reliable analyses, as well as proper administrative processes to ensure that all aspects related to the sample, the analysis, and the reporting are standardized, measured, and monitored.
