Thirty-seven years ago on October 13, 1987, a newborn baby was found discarded and dead inside a dumpster behind a business in the 5400 block of La Sierra Avenue. A man rummaging for recyclables found the baby. The newborn girl’s death was ruled a homicide by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

In September 2023, the partial skeletal remains of an unidentified individual were discovered by a maintenance diver at the Lawrence Hydroelectric Plant in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Lawrence is located north of Boston on the Merrimack River. The remains were found approximately 60 feet underwater along with a blue shirt, a black jacket, and a pair of thermal underwear pants, all of which were found against the water intake grate.

On December 26, 1988, the Perris Police Department discovered the body of a woman near 330 E. 4th Street, in the City of Perris. Police were unable to identify the victim and the case remained unsolved.
