She has her name back. Now we need answers. Palm Beach County, help us, said Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in a social media post.

In 2023, human remains were discovered in a wooded area near South Military Trail in unincorporated Boynton Beach. For years, we didn’t know who she was. Through forensic investigative genetic genealogy, extensive research, and DNA testing, our Cold Case and Forensic Biology teams have identified her as Regina Hess, born Aug. 22, 1948.

But identifying Regina is only part of the case. Detectives still need information about her life in the years before her death and the circumstances surrounding her death. If you knew Regina or have information that could help, contact Detective Milliner at 561-688-4003 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477).

Help find the answers Regina Hess deserves.
