It’s been two years (Sept. 25, 2022) since the skeletal remains of a man were found in a field near Avondale and investigators are still seeking information on his identity.
DNA testing has been done on the remains but his identity is still unknown. Investigators are now working with CBI and Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter to do forensic investigative genetic genealogy, which may help identify possible family members. However, this process does take some time.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office continues to seek the public’s help in identifying who this man is and what may have happened to him. A forensic artist from Miami Dade, Fla., developed these reconstruction photos that may provide a clue to his identity.
The forensic analysis suggests the remains belong to a Caucasian man between the ages of 30 to 50. The forensic artist created alternate hairstyles and facial hair styles since it is unknown what the man may have looked like at the time of his death. His hair color and eye color are unknown. The man may also have had tattoos and/or piercings.
Anyone who may know he is, contact Detective Vanessa Simpson at (719) 583-6436.
