FEATURED STORY
Confusing, Understudied Drug on the Rise in the U.S.A new drug concoction that poses unique risks and has been heavily under-researched has made its way from Latin America and Europe to the U.S. recently. The suspect in a 2024 sexual assault case involving a vulnerable adult has been identified and arrested, following a breakthrough made possible by interagency collaboration. Wright was wrongfully convicted of the 1984 murder of his friend, Penny Anderson, in her Springfield, Massachusetts apartment. Years after the murder, a partial DNA profile was developed from her clothing. It eliminated the main suspect in the case. Staff in the Ramapo College Investigative Genetic Genealogy Center successfully delivered a candidate to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s and Arizona Attorney General’s offices. Her skeletonized remains were discovered on Driver’s Flat Road in Foresthill, California, and had remained unidentified for over two decades. |
