Novel Study Compares Fracture Patterning in Fatal, Survived Domestic Violence CasesThe study is the first to document intimate partner homicide-related fractures from a forensic anthropological perspective. After 44 years, the remains of a man discovered in an unincorporated area of Ojai in Ventura County, California have been identified. Forty years ago, 3-year-old Ramona Brown vanished after a house fire killed two of her siblings and destroyed her family’s home. A team of researchers reconstructed the face of Chinese Emperor Wu of Northern Zhou using DNA extracted from his remains. The prestigious award will fund research into the causes, complexities, and potential solutions to gun violence in disproportionately impacted Black and Brown communities. |
