Ballistics Comparison Giving Way to Virtual 3D MethodsZheng scanned the samples using a high-resolution 3D microscope, creating a virtual model of the toolmarks found on the bullets and cartridge cases. Before DNA was collected, the Pullman Washington Police Department believed the two cases were connected because of similarities in the attacks. In 2015, the case was reassigned again, and a GBI forensic artist did new clay renderings and composites of the victim for an age progression. |
