Maximizing STR Success for the Most Challenging Samples by Multiplex Male/Human Real-Time PCR Quantification

Thu, 03/22/2012 - 3:52pm

Summary:  Quantification is typically the only pre-STR analysis step of forensic casework DNA samples.  Therefore, it is both useful and necessary to extract as much information as possible from these samples - aiding both setup of the STR reaction and the integration of unexpected results.  The quantification step should be seen as a quality control step rather than just a quantification of the DNA concentration.  This webinar presents the first results from a novel quantification assay that provides robust data on human and male DNA quantification and an excellent prediction of STR success combined with a very high sensitivity.
