Building on the Innate Skills of Your Potential Managers to Prepare them for the Demands of Management

The time between the selection of your new supervisory candidates and their assumption of new responsibilities can be vital to their success. Many new managers have little idea about what the demands of the position will be. They may have few examples of different managers to observe, and much of the real work of management is done in secret!

  • First – Be clear about the demands of the job.
  • Second – Assess their skills and deficits.
  • Third – Look for or invent opportunities to practice the needed skills.
  • Forth – Review progress and coach.
  • Fifth – Prepare them for the first traumatic month!

What if you don’t have the luxury of this prep time? We will discuss the immediate transition, too.

By listening to this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Develop a person-specific plan for the success of your supervisory candidates.
  • Build specific skills.
  • Nurture them through their first few months on the job.
