Forensic Pathways Leads Euro Team in Fight against Gun Crime
A new forensics system bringing together
gun crime and ballistics data from across
Europe is being developed in the UK.
The Odyssey system is being developed by
Forensic Pathways, based near Birmingham,
as part of an EU funded project. When completed,
the state-of-the-art computer system will,
for the first time, automate the collection
and sharing of data about gun crime from
across Europe and automatically alert police
services about links between crimes.
The Fume-A-Wand™ offers a fuming cartridge that never has to be removed, as long as the unit is in use. Pellets are dropped into the cartridge and the rotating cover locks in place. A built-in wire stand allows the wand to be set on the floor of the chamber, and will generate enough heat to develop a latent print in as little as 30 seconds.
