For use in crime laboratories, this SRM 2460 Standard Bullet verifies that bullet signature acquisitions and correlations are under control and traceable to the National Laboratory Center of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). It also verifies that profile measurements of bullets are traceable to the NIST virtual standard for bullet profile signatures. (NIST)
