ALIAS Advanced Ballistics Analysis System is a portable, measurement instrument and analysis tool for use by forensic ballistics and firearms examiners that creates, compares, and analyzes 3D, volumetric models of cartridge cases and spent bullets. The technology can measure and examine toolmarks as small as two microns. ALIAS includes computer hardware; an open database infrastructure; and an application-specific interferometer with a "six-pac" cartridge case or expended bullet holder (patents pending).
