Susan Ballou is the Program Manager for Forensic Sciences at the Office of Law Enforcement Standards for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Prior to Federal service, she attained 20 years of laboratory experience in the areas of drug analysis, serology, hairs, fibers, and DNA and has testified in at least 110 criminal proceedings. Ms. Ballou has Diplomate certification with the American Board of Criminalistics and as a member of the AAFS, she attained fellow status and was past chair of the AAFS Criminalistics section.
