Dr. Robert Shaler
Dr. Robert Shaler was the Director Department of Forensic Biology in the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, New York from 1990 until he retired in 2005. He is a retired professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State and the founding director of the Penn State forensic science program from 2005 until 2010. He is the author of “Who They Were,” a firsthand account of the work done by the medical examiner’s DNA laboratory to identify the WTC missing.
